Hotel Californian Branding

Iconoclasts create irresistible moments—strange and wonderful happenings that only occur when you put two things together that at first would not seem to mix, but wind up yielding something legendary. For Santa Barbara’s Hotel Californian, we envisioned just such a place: A frankly fantastical destination where Santa Barbara's resident and visiting Iconoclasts —chefs, artists, entrepreneurs, and winemakers—all come together to create a dynamic atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

Inspired by the Hotel’s wonderful Moroccan interiors designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard, we crafted a brand identity that embraces the independent and iconoclastic spirit of Santa Barbara—part history, part imagination, all Hotel Californian.
