EDG Public Relations Department
Design Director Gina Joyce, Senior Designer Leslie Eiland, and Project Coordinator Kathleen Grayson bring a wealth of hospitality experience and creativity to EDG's Dallas studio in the Adolphus Tower.
"We are very excited to have Gina, Leslie and Kathleen join EDG, " says CEO Jennifer Johanson, "Gina's spark and energy along with her experience and strong work ethic add an exciting dimension to our Dallas team. We are hoping this will allow us to grow our presence in Dallas as well as regionally."
Gina brings years of big-firm experience, combined with a boutique-firm mentality that focuses on design innovation, creative problem solving, and client success. An interior design professional for almost 30 years, Gina has worked on a myriad of prestigious nationally and internationally based projects including The Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa; Four Season’s Scottsdale Troon North; and one of her personal favorites, The Hotel Del Coronado.
We sat down with Gina and asked her about finding inspiration, her passions, and creative process.
What inspires your passion for interior design?
Coronado, California: both my childhood beach and home to the infamous Hotel Del Coronado. Playing in the sand and waves with the jets overhead, brought together my life as a Navy officer’s daughter and love of the outdoors and beautiful buildings. A passion for art, color and design brought me to a degree in interior design.
Things came full circle when I was granted the opportunity of 11 renovations throughout my career at my beloved Hotel Del Coronado, the epitome of design through the centuries!
What excites you about EDG?
Having spent many years designing with the top design houses and then running Joyce Design Group for 7+ years, I am excited to return to the bigger picture of hotel design. Large collaborative team, high-level design, and the opportunity to grow and share what I have learned. The door is wide open at EDG.
What makes a great project?
Happy client, great project! Success is in the details and collaborative effort.
What do you like to do for fun?
Design isn’t work for me, design is a way of living. As a creative, my mind is constantly making sense of the world around me whether it is gardening, doodling, baking and traveling.
