The Clancy hotel is set to debut in the South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood of San Francisco in January 2020. It will be the latest entry in Marriott’s the Autograph Collection portfolio. Replacing the former Courtyard San Francisco Downtown, the property will undergo a renovation at the hand of locally based design practice,EDG Design.

The $30 million overhaul will channel the many curiosities of the city, drawing inspiration from the city’s many back alleys and mid-block detours. A dual-sided lobby bar will reflect the layout of an urban sprawl, with a lobby-facing side appointed with a lounge and a restaurant-facing brasserie. The original hotel’s courtyard will also be reimagined with large-scale murals designed by local artists.
