Terramor Outdoor Resort, just outside Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine, won for best New Brand Launch at the 2021 HD Awards last month in New York. This elevated outdoor hospitality experience, a new venture by Kampgrounds of America, Inc., combines access to nature with the amenities and comforts of a resort. The 60-acre property is set among the trees of Mount Desert Island and features 64 upscale canvas tents, a central lodge, an outdoor pavilion, pool and hot tub.
EDG named Terramor, crafted the brand narrative and guest touchpoints, and designed all brand collateral, signage and visual identity, as well as designing the glamping tent interiors and communal spaces. According to the HD judges, “There’s not a brand like this right now.”
“The Terramor experience is all about finding what you need when you least expect it. Mail drops, morning coffee and bread service, or craft cocktails delivered around the fire,” said Pieter Stougaard, Director of Creative Strategy for EDG. “The ultimate luxury is getting away from it all without ever feeling lost.”
The brand was crafted around the idea that outdoor luxury shouldn’t be pretentious. Instead, the team explored a definition of richness wrapped in simplicity and authentic hospitality.
“The finalists in the New Brand Launch category were among the best in hospitality, and coming out on top is a testament to the unique experience an outdoor resort provides,” said Whitney Scott, chief operating officer at Terramor Outdoor Resort. “We’ve received glowing reviews from guests this season and look forward to introducing Terramor to even more travelers and expanding to more locations in the coming years.”
