Shisha Terrace Doha

30 years ago, it was a dream of our CEO, Jennifer Johansen, to design projects in far-away lands. Back then, she thought it would be “so cool” to design hotels, restaurants, and bars across the globe. Jumping to 2016, EDG now has hundreds of projects in their portfolio - Budapest to Singapore, San Francisco to Qatar.

Today, EDG celebrates the one-year anniversary of one of our projects in the Middle East, Shisha Terrace Doha. Qatar was a beautiful country to explore and the project was an exercise in designing with history and tradition in mind, while infusing modern sensibilities. As we celebrate the success of Shisha, we offer this description of the project written by Endamia Decour, Director of Public Relations for the Four Seasons:

"Four Seasons Hotel Doha announces the opening of Shisha Terrace, the Hotel’s stylish new lounge, set overlooking the Arabian Gulf and Doha’s famed city skyline.

'We are very excited to introduce Shisha Terrace to travelers and residents alike to experience an authentic taste of Doha,' says Rami Sayess, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Doha. 'Our food and beverage offerings continue to present the very best in Doha – from exquisite cuisine and modern settings to our passion for service, guests will truly experience a unique and authentic experience found nowhere else.'

The re-inspired lounge presents a stylish and modern ambiance, complemented by the finest Arabic cuisine. Shisha Terrace offers an array of traditional Oriental hot and cold mezzeh, an assortment of hot Arabic drinks and Moroccan tea, or sip on a selection of freshly made mocktails.  For savoury bites, Shisha Terrace features a spectacular live-station of Doha’s premiere saj, made in-house and adorned with authentic Lebanese toppings. Additionally, it offers different selection of shisha flavours, fresh fruits shisha and an exceptional natural shisha specially imported Aroma Vapologie, not to be matched elsewhere in Qatar.

The sophisticated lounge is beautifully decorated with touches of Arabic influences, rich layering of natural woods and ornate art and textiles from the region. Taking advantage of the Hotel’s premier waterfront location, the lounge features a unique, controlled glass door and rooftop for a seamless transition from the indoors out.  This unique design element allows guests to enjoy unobstructed magical views of the water and the city all year long."
