Conde Nast Traveller Hot List

For the 21st edition of the Hot List (Conde Nast Traveller picks of the year’s top hotel openings) editors and reporters crisscrossed more than 50 countries to review hundreds of new properties firsthand. 75 outstanding winners that represent not just the vanguard of the hotel world but where travelers are headed next—and why. 

The team of 60 reporters, editors and photographers flew a collective 529,500 miles, sausaged in coach, slept in roughly 200 beds, and had passports stamped in more than 50 countries. The travel was quickly followed by knock-down, drag-out debates that got the list from the 675 contenders to the final 75 —which means,  only 11 percent of all those properties they "bunkered down in" made this list this year, making it the most selective list in twenty-one years.

Even with all of this years compeition, two EDG projects made the list - Andaz Scottsdale and Jumeriah Al Naseem. Andaz Scottdale was recognized for its artistic bent while Jumeriah Al Naseem was recognised for its expanisve hotels epic "name-basis" service.  You can see the complete list by visiting Conde Nast Traveller.
